Throughout my education in the computer science department, and in the variety of out-of-class experiences I have had I got to – unknowingly – discover some of the tools used in Digital Humanities. Becoming a Vivero Fellow is an opportunity for me to better understand the work of digital humanities and grasp the contexts they operate in, which are far wider than what I have experienced so far.
I am looking forward to learn about the different tools relevant for the field, and gain the ability to use them professionally. I am also excited to work with fellow students with similar goals, and work with a professor on one of the very interesting projects that I am yet to be matched with. I hope that through this experience I will equip myself with skills that I can not only benefit from myself, but get to support members of our Grinnell community in the drop-in sessions.
